From the WP18 bees’ work, more efficient control technologies in line with the challenges of the HL-LHC will come. In the Hilumi era, equipment groups and accelerator specialists will need larger amounts of diagnostics data. Therefore, a new-generation data logging system, as well as modern technologies based on clustering and running analysis on the servers, will be the results of the efforts of WP18 bees.

They will also be in charge of the fieldbus technologies (in the lower tier of the control system), and will develop, test, validate and deploy a modern radiation-tolerant fieldbus solution based on 100Mb/s Ethernet (as the current WorldFIP bandwidth is limited to 2.5Mb/s).

WP18 bees provide support to all the beehive.
